Petition available for download
29 March 2006 | By admin in InformationCAFCA is a member of The Keep Our Port Public (KOPP) coalition, which has launched a petition, directed at the Christchurch City Council, urging that it not proceed with its plan to sell half of its stake in the Lyttelton Port Company to Hutchison Port Holdings Ltd of Hong Kong, nor to any other foreign or New Zealand company. It simply urges the Council to retain the Port Company in public ownership.
The petition will be physically launched at KOPP’s April 10th public meeting in the Limes Room at the Christchurch Town Hall.
The petition can be accessed (but not signed) online via the below Link. Please print it off, sign it yourself, gather other signatures and help us distribute it.
Please return signed petitions to KOPP, Box 2258, Christchurch, by June 1st.
Further details of the KOPP campaign (such as the public meeting), and information about the proposed Port Company sale, can also be accessed at the below Link.
